This variant of the GS6-53DZ (HGA) is a special version only found in late E46 330d cars and shares a bellhousing pattern with M5x based motors so can be fit directly to M50/52/54 and S50/54 engines. A custom tailshaft, selector rod and transmission brace (A GS6-37DZ uses the same brace when using an E46 rear mount). These transmissions are extremely strong with many people putting over 1000whp through them with excellent results - This is the strongest manual transmission BMW has ever used.
As this GS6-53DZ uses the smaller M5x bellhousing pattern, the standard M5x starter will work and our RHD GS6-37BZ/DZ flywheel is also compatible.
